Walkill River School

The wonderful Wallkill River School was kind enough to let allow us to host our "Ghosts of Christmas Past" event there. Also known as the Patchett House, the school was built around 1824 and used as a tavern, which was a popular stop along the old Newburgh-Cohecton Turnpike. It was later purchased by Arthur Patchett owner of the Montgomery Worsted Mill Company. The Patchetts lived there until 1976, when the last remaining heir, Emma Patchett passed away at the age of 97. Following that, it was used a funeral home. In fact, the embalming sinks still remain in the basement to this day.

During our investigation, we experienced our equipment being set off quite often. The K2 meter was a favorite method of communication for spirits at the Walkill River School. A member of our team got touched several times.
